Arth-Goldau loco

This photo of a special kind of railway engine was taken at the twin locality of Arth-Goldau, in the canton of Schwyz, Switzerland. For anyone interested in railways, this is a prime location: not only is it the junction where the line from St Gotthard splits, one line heading for Zurich, and the other taking you to Lucerne / Basel; but it is also the valley station for the cog railway (funicular) carrying passengers up the Rigi, known as ‘the queen of the mountains’. As if that were not enough of a transport hot spot, Arth is also the departure point for cruises on Lake Zug.
Enjoy spotting the differences in the two images.
