The Miami Children’s Museum

Miami’s Children’s Museum on MacArthur Causeway, Watson Island, aims to inspire children in a multicultural community to play, learn, imagine and create. In the Art Studio children can play their way into multi-media experiences which include clay, paint and other arts and crafts. Head for the Bank of America display to learn about money and finance, and try designing your own banknote while learning how money is made and used in society. There is a life-sized supermarket in the museum, which helps children to understand where food comes from, and to learn about nutrition and choice.
One exhibit which is often out on loan to other museums is ‘The Wizard of Oz’. This educational display uses the famous film to learn about art, science and physical challenges; if you particularly want to have this experience please call ahead to check the exhibit is there.
The photograph shows the 56,500 sq foot purpose-built facility, which represents the elements of earth, wind, water and fire.
