The west coast of Croatia

This photo, taken on the coastline of Croatia, is a reminder of what you are missing if you have never taken a holiday along this wonderful Adriatic shore. This part of Europe has a high number of days sunshine a year, and even in the winter months you can expect pleasant temperatures. From the Istrian Peninsula in the north, to the better-known Dalmatian ports of of Split and Dubrovnik in the south, Croatia has 6,278 kms (nearly 4,000 miles) of beautiful natural coastline and fascinating history to offer. Known as the coast of 1,000 islands, it in fact has 1,244, mostly uninhabited separate pieces of land, many of which you can explore by boat. The Romans came here, and the Venetians – now it’s your turn!
